Step-by-Step Linear Calibration Instructions Repeated calibration of each instrument on each range scale to be used must be demonstrated by a calibration, or correction curve. EPA requires this practice specifically in section 180.1 of their Methods Manual. By obtaining a five point base for calibration in each range, the operator will then correct for any electronic or read-out instabilities.
